Hi, I’m Paul, and I’ll be your DJ & MC for the evening!

Growing up in the 70’s, I remember listening records from Abba and Bay City Rollers, dancing around the living room with my cousins in front of their now vintage, but sick stereo system back then that had a record player, AM radio and speakers all in the one cabinet with room to store all your records inside too! We’d sit around with our Realistic tape recorder and hand-held microphone to record our favourite songs for later and yell at mum when called out from the other room that dinner was ready, ruining our recording and having to start over again!

My journey as a DJ began back in the 80’s when I worked as a roadie helping my cousin, who was a mobile DJ at the time, doing Blue-Light Discos, 21st birthdays and weddings. I would take over the decks (yes, we used vinyl back then!) to give him a break and learned from experience to read the room and what music people loved to dance to, when to play certain styles and when to change it up. I built up my confidence to speak on the microphone and soon found myself making introductions and interacting with the crowd.

In the 90’s I was old enough discover Melbourne’s disco and nightclub scene. Venues like The Tunnel, Underground, Hippodrome, Inflation, Bobby McGees, The Ivy, Chevon, Silvers and more where the go-to places on a Friday and Saturday night. My friends and I would hit the clubs to dance and listen to the latest tracks coming from Australia, Europe, UK and USA and it really expanded my love for music and the dance scene. I always admired the club DJ’s for their dedication and skills on the decks and their ability to get the crowd moving.

When my cousin retired, I decided to step behind the decks myself, and nearly four decades later, I’m still doing what I love. Even though I’m abit older and have few greys around the edges, great music, tunes and rhythms still stir up emotions and get the feet tapping. For me, this isn’t just a job, it’s a passion. When I’m not DJ’ing, I love going to live concerts, tribute shows and gigs and catching up with friends to see a live band and have a boogie. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing many amazing artists over the years including Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, Madonna, Prince, Michael Jackson, The Cure, Deep Purple, Kiss, AC/DC, Cold Chisel, Michael Buble, Tina Turner and many more.

My passion for music rubbed off my family too… I enjoy the DJ’ing, my wife plays the piano, my daughter teaches dance and choreography to kids, and my son, well, he just listens to hip-hop rubbish… I guess we can’t all be perfect!

I dedicate time every week listening to music and watching music videos, from the 70’s retro right through to today’s latest hits, keeping up with trends and continually expanding my collection. This ensures that I have the most up-to-date playlist possible to be able to cater for most requests and play the music you and your guests want to hear.

With more than 35 years of experience in the DJ and wedding industry, I’ve had the pleasure of performing at hundreds of weddings, birthdays, and special events, so many, I’ve honestly lost count!
